About

Spruce and Pine was born from a calling—a need to return to my authentic self. I’ve always been drawn to creating, building, and uncovering the potential in things others might overlook. There’s a deep sense of pride and growth in every piece I make. When I’m working with my hands, I feel like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be—free from obligations, with space to be curious, explore, and see where the journey leads.

Some of my favorite projects include transforming an old carport into a greenhouse, complete with a brick floor, and peeling back the layers of our fixer-upper home nestled at the base of the foothills to reveal its true potential. I’ve also loved making unique stocking stands from repurposed spindles to bring a little more magic and connection to people’s family holidays. Recently, I’ve started carving spoons from lilac branches in my yard, and I can’t wait to see where these new skills take me.

Working with repurposed materials is a challenge I embrace. It’s a blend of creativity and problem-solving that constantly teaches me patience and perspective. I’m increasingly aware of over-consumerism and the waste we generate, so the idea of taking something discarded and turning it into something meaningful inspires me. It’s my way of honoring the potential in materials while creating something lasting.

Every piece I make, by hand on my property, is designed to connect people—to traditions, to one another, and to the earth—even in the smallest ways. I hope my work encourages people to pause, reflect, and find beauty in something simple and thoughtful.

What keeps me going is the curiosity of “what if?”—what if we try this, or what if that piece of wood becomes something entirely unexpected? I love uncovering the hidden potential in every project. But the real joy comes from learning how my creations become part of someone else’s story. Whether it’s adding extra hooks to a stocking stand for a growing family or carving an heirloom spoon from a tree with sentimental value, I cherish those moments of connection.

Spruce and Pine is more than a business—it’s a journey of creativity, connection, and growth. One day, I hope to teach workshops that empower women to learn more about themselves by working with their hands and creating something special and meaningful. For now, I’d love to hear your ideas for repurposing old wood or celebrate your upcycling projects with you.

Thank you for being part of this story. Every time you support Spruce and Pine, you’re helping me grow this dream—and bring a little more meaning into the world.
